Assembling Wall Bar
- Place a thin protective layer on the floor (you can use some of the packaging material for the purpose)
- Place one of the side rails on the protective layer with oval packets facing up
- Insert rungs into the oval pockets of the side rail
- Take another side rail with oval pockets facing down and put it on top of the rungs making sure each rung fits into each pocket
- Take two long wood screws and drive them into the top screw hole of each side rail (top rung is slightly offset and requires longer screws)
- Take short wood screws and drive them into all other screw holes
Tip: Since wood is a natural product with significant variability, you can choose which side of each rung you like better and turn that side to face the front of the wall bar.
Tip: Only insert decorative brass plugs into the large holes in side rails after the wall bar is fully fastened to the wall – they fit tightly and may be tricky to remove.
Installation on Solid Walls
- Select a mounting location on the wall so that no electrical cables or piping inside the wall is damaged when drilling
- Put assembled wall bar against the wall, making sure side rails rest on the floor and all four mounting spots have contact to the wall
- Hold wall bar steadily in place to make sure they do not move during drilling
- Take an electric drill with a 10 mm drill bit of at least 200 mm length and drill a hole 90-100 mm deep into the wall
- Vacuum drilling dust out of the holes in the wall and out of the mounting holes in wall bar
- Insert solid wall anchors into the mounting holes fully (you can use a hammer carefully if they are too hard to insert by hand)
- Take a screwdriver with a wall anchor drill bit and drive wall anchor screws fully until wall bar is properly fixed to the wall
- Insert decorative brass plugs to conceal fasteners
Tip: If you don’t have a 10 mm drill bit of sufficient length, you can mark mounting hole positions on the wall, remove wall bar from the wall and drill the holes with a shorter drill bit.
Installation on Stud Frame Walls
- Take two wooden slats that came with your order and place them against the mounting holes on the wall bar with square holes facing the wall
- Place a washer on each of the bolts
- Insert bolts (with washers) into the mounting holes on the wall bar all the way in until the ends of bolts appear in the square holes in the wooden slats
- Place square nuts into the square holes in the wooden slats
- Take a screwdriver with a screwdriver bit for bolts attached and fasten the bolts until each slat is securely fixed to the wall bar
- Put assembled wall bar against the wall, making sure side rails rest on the floor and all four mounting spots have contact to the wall and making sure wall bar is centered between two studs of your wall
- Mark the centers of studs on wooden slats
- With a wood drill bit of selected diameter (based on your selected fasteners) drill wooden slats at marked locations
- Fasten wall bar through holes in wooden slats to wall studs with selected fasteners
- Insert decorative brass plugs to conceal fasteners
Tip: Do not overtighten the bolts as unsightly cracks may develop on the sides of wooden slats.
Installation on Other Walls
Installation on walls of other types must be carried out by professionals. Some wall types may not be strong enough to support wall bar without significant modification. Professional assessment is and installation is required.
